February 26:”A Playground Perspective: Embracing Sexual and Gender Diversity” and “A Declaration of Conscience.”

Presented by: Guest Speaker Kennedy Blair and Host Chad Minteer

colorful-1415969_640Sunday, we will have a special guest speaker, 11-year old Kennedy Blair. Kennedy will present an encore presentation of her wonderful TEDx Twin Falls talk titled: “A Playground Perspective: Embracing Sexual and Gender Diversity.” Need a little shot of hope? When you see an 11-year old talk like this, you can’t help but have some hope. The world is not doomed, because young people like Kennedy – and their supportive families, allies and friends – are going to change it.
As we face uncertain times, there is clarity that we must act, not alone, but together to protect the values of our democracy and those vulnerable populations among us. We need everyone – including you, your friends and your colleagues. Our Unitarian Universalist Association has prepared a Declaration of Conscience (uua.org/declaration) stating in the strongest possible terms our commitment in these times. We will read this Declaration together. For an infusion of hope, and a statement of resolve and purpose, please join us this Sunday.

Unitarian Universalism honors the differing paths we each travel. Our congregations are places where we celebrate, support, and challenge one another as we continue on our spiritual journeys.

Unitarian Universalists covenant to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person; justice, equality and compassion in human relations; and acceptance of one another.
Newcomers of all religious paths or none at all are always welcome. We are handicapped accessible. Please park in the rear of the building. Child care is available.

Join us at the Magic Valley Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship at 10:30am on Sundays at the Vendor Blender and Event Center in Twin Falls.

February 19:”What Attracts People to Unitarian-Universalism?” By Michael Johnson

Please join us Sunday to stop and take a brief look at where we (Unitarian-Universalists) came from, what we believe and what it is that attracts us and others to Unitarian-Universalism.

Michael Johnson will discuss how he discovered Unitarian-Universalism and how much he identifies with what Unitarian-Universalism is and what he likes about it. Please be ready to ask questions.

Sunday, February 12, 2017: “What Lies Within?”

Presented by: Julie Merrick

The Buddha taught that the way is not in the sky; it is in the heart. As we seek out silence and turn our attention to the center of our being, we discover what lies within. We uncover a path of wisdom, peace, presence and compassion.

Please Note: This Sunday is our Second Sunday. As you all know, each second Sunday of the month our basket collection (unless otherwise noted) will be donated to a local charity. This Sunday’s basket will be donated to the Twin Falls Animal Shelter, a 501 (c )(3) non-profit corporation.
