Join us this week as we wonder together about courage – what it looks like, sounds like, feels like, and who has it – and participate in a shared experience where we will consider the quiet courage of changing our minds.

Please join us on Sunday September 27th when Debbie Blackwood, the Director of People for Pets Humane Society in Twin Falls, will share heartwarming stories about the relationships between pets and people.
Debbie will also give an update on the status of the Animal Shelter’s much needed addition. The Shelter is always in need of blankets and towels and sheets as well as any kind of dog food. Attendees are welcome to bring donations of this sort to the Fellowship at the time of the service.
In addition, if you have adopted a pet from an animal shelter, there will be a time when you are welcome to share your story.
Karen Ludwig from the Pocatello Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will be our guest speaker this Sunday, September 20th. Please join us to hear her message.
The Water Ceremony, also sometimes called Water Communion, was first used at a Unitarian-Universalist (UU) worship service in the 1980s. Many UU congregations now hold a Water Ceremony once a year, often at the beginning of the new church year in September.
Members, friends, and visitors are asked to bring a small amount of water representing a place special to them or something they have done this year. During the appointed time, the water will be poured one by one into a large bowl. As the water is added, the person who brought it can share why this water is special.
Participants may bring water that is symbolic of the actual location to add to the bowl. The combined water is symbolic of our shared faith coming from many different sources. The Water Ceremony is an excellent opportunity for Unitarian Universalist congregations to express their commitment to our Sixth Principle: We covenant to affirm and promote the goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all.
