In any of a million moments in our lives, we approach a tomb with a heavy stone rolled in front, filled with grief for the everyday losses of life. Ancient stories, even stories we thought we no longer needed, continue to have resonance for us today. What do the stories of Passover and Easter have to say to us, now, today?

April 21, 2019: Easter and Earth Day Celebration

Come Celebrate Easter and Earth Day with the Unitarian-Universalists On Sunday we will be celebrate Earth Day with an Inter-generational service. Earth Day, now a global celebration, founded in 1970, is celebrated this year Monday, April 22. Earth Day sometimes is extended into Earth Week with a full seven days of events focused on green living.

The Magic Valley Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship invites you to join this celebration with songs, a play and a musical performance by the children.

Karen Fothergill will lead this service with thoughts about Easter, Earth Day and the blessing of Spring – the season of rebirth. A children’s Easter Egg hunt will follow.

Sunday, April 1: Let’s Celebrate Easter

Let’s celebrate Easter Sunday with an exploration of transformation from many different sources. Karen Fothergill will share lessons from Soul Matters, a sermon on Easter by Reverend Dr. Martin Lavanhar, Senior Minister of All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa Oklahoma.

Rev. Lavanhar will reflect on nature and its transformative beauty.

After our service we will have an Easter egg hunt for the children followed by a potluck for all. Please bring a dish to share.
