December 16: Social Gathering Evening (Online)

You’re Invited!

The Magic Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is inviting you to a UU Virtual Social Gathering on Wednesday December 16, 2020 from 7 to 9 pm. The purpose of this gathering is to give us an opportunity to gather as a group in a social setting.

In order to facilitate interaction, we will have breakouts into small groups for short periods and then rotate into other groups so you will get a chance to visit with most everyone who attends and get to see how folks are doing. We may even have a couple of games that we will play.

Please feel free to make your favorite snacks and beverages of choice to enjoy during the evening. Below is the Zoom link and password if you are asked to provide one.

Wednesday, Nov. 4: Special Post-Election Vespers Service & Joint UU Gathering

The Magic Valley UU Fellowship has been invited to join First Unitarian Church of Salt Lake and the South Valley UU Society for a post-election drop-in gathering and vespers service via Zoom on Wednesday evening, November 4, from 6 to 9 pm. All of our UU friends across Utah and southern Idaho are invited to attend. We will have a drop-in style open house discussion moderated by the ministers – come whenever you like, stay as long as you like, be comforted by the presence of other UUs as we process what is sure to be an uncertain result of the election and an uncertain future for our country.

The meeting runs from between 6 to 9 pm (Mountain Time). During that time there will be a 30 minute worship service starting at 7:30pm MT

NOTE:
6:00 PM Mountain Time is:

November 17: “Standing on the Side of Love, Justice, and Compassion”

This service is about our direction and goals as a fellowship. MVUUF recently created a video describing the innovative ways we’re using our new space. Unitarian Universalists across the country watched this video for inspiration. Now we’d like to watch it with you, our friends in the Magic Valley!

We are looking for ways to explore the use of our building to reach out to the community. For example our Fellowship (MVUUF) is having some upcoming events in which local individuals share their stories. The first of these is a transgender panel event. The second will involve a panel of local refugees sharing their stories.

Boise intern minister Mary Beth Bolin will be visiting us for this service. Come ready to hear about the things we are doing, and share your dreams of how we can use our home to establish our unique identity in Twin Falls.

Unitarian-Universalism honors the differing paths we each travel. Our congregations are places where we celebrate, support, and challenge one another as we continue on our spiritual journeys. As Unitarian-Universalists, we covenant to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person; justice, equality and compassion in human relations; and acceptance of one another.

Newcomers of all religious paths or none at all are always welcome. We are working on becoming handicapped-accessible but are not fully there yet. To avoid steps into the sanctuary please enter through the rear entrance to access a sloping hallway to the sanctuary. Please park in the rear of the building or on the street, in front or the side of the building. Child care is available during the adult portion of the service.

NEW: Join Soul Matters Group BUUF+MVUUF starting October 22, 7 p.m.

Hello MVUUF Members and Friends:

As a part of our new partnership with Boise UU Fellowship, intern Mary Beth Bolin is launching a Soul Matters Small Group on the 4th Tuesday of each month for both MVUUF and BUUF friends, where all participants will join online via the “Zoom” online meeting platform. “Zoom” is easy to download and run either on a computer or a phone. Get your device ready and sign up for a free account in advance here.

This is an exciting opportunity to connect more deeply with each other and with the monthly themes, all from the comfort of our own homes! Our first meeting will be Tuesday October 22 at 7 pm, discussing the theme of “Belonging.” If you would like to participate, please email Mary Beth at intern@boiseuu.org.

Thank you so much!

Blessings,
Mary Beth
