Wednesday, Nov. 4: Special Post-Election Vespers Service & Joint UU Gathering

The Magic Valley UU Fellowship has been invited to join First Unitarian Church of Salt Lake and the South Valley UU Society for a post-election drop-in gathering and vespers service via Zoom on Wednesday evening, November 4, from 6 to 9 pm. All of our UU friends across Utah and southern Idaho are invited to attend. We will have a drop-in style open house discussion moderated by the ministers – come whenever you like, stay as long as you like, be comforted by the presence of other UUs as we process what is sure to be an uncertain result of the election and an uncertain future for our country.

The meeting runs from between 6 to 9 pm (Mountain Time). During that time there will be a 30 minute worship service starting at 7:30pm MT

We’ve worked so hard to get to this moment: Election Day, 2020. It doesn’t feel real: millions of votes have already been cast, and many won’t even be counted until after November 3. Yet even though we’re moving in slow motion, we know that everything is about to change. What is worth saving in this democracy? And how do we go forward, no matter what the results turn out to be?

Unitarian Universalism honors the differing paths we each travel. Our congregations are places where we celebrate, support, and challenge one another as we continue on our spiritual journeys. As UUs, we covenant to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person. We seek to let justice, equality and compassion prevail in human relations and promote acceptance of one another.
Newcomers of all religious paths or none at all are always welcome.
